TRANSFORMING A REGIONAL INTERNAL COMMunications FUNCTION

ENGAGING WITH OVER 7,000 EMPLOYEES ACROSS 12 COUNTRIES

  1. Launching two-way communications: Built and worked with an agency to develop an interactive intranet news portal tailored to the preferences and needs of the employees. Content on the portal was customized based on where the user sat in the business and they were able to comment, like and share articles, enhancing engagement and accessibility.

  2. Tailored Communications for new segments: Recognizing the disconnect between senior and more junior colleagues, we focused our energy on empowering and communicating with middle management. This addressed frustrations and stressors, but also equipped them with the tools and messages to further the company culture in a way that was authentic to them.

  3. Paving the way for new channels: Identified and implemented new communication mediums, including video messages, podcasts, and virtual town hall meetings, to reach employees more frequently and informally. This built confidence in leadership, as messages were timely, authentic and easier to digest.

  4. Managing requests and workflow: Introduced a workflow management system to streamline the internal communications process, facilitate collaboration among team members, and ensure timely delivery of communications across the organization. This clarity and transparency allowed stakeholders to gain trust and build confidence around the function.

  5. Implementing a CRM for results and impact: Implemented Salesforce Marketing Cloud to measure the efficacy of internal communications efforts, track employee engagement metrics, and gather feedback to inform future communication strategies. This enabled us to assess the impact of communications initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
